Faculty provided for post-graduate courses on ‘Oceans and Global Marine Environment’ at the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies, and the Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Pune.
January 2007-“Marine Debris”, 100 books in Marathi Distributed in Mumbai. Marine Debris Action Group(MDAG) formed.
Feb 2007- Seminar on “India’s EEZ and Continental Shelf- its exploitation and conservation. Chief Guest Vice Admiral SS Byce, POCINC,WNC.
September 2007- International Coastal Cleanup Conducted.
October 2007- All India Naval Symphonic Concert, Balgandarva, Pune.
12th November 2007- Captain Nicholas Cooper, President Nautical Institute (UK), Visited Pune.
18th November 2007-     IMF’s 14th Anniversary and Dinner, Chief Guest- Adm Sureesh Mehta CNS, Lecture- “India’s Maritime Strategic Outlook And Naval Transformation”.
24/25 November - SIMA Annual Exhibition of Seascapes in Empress Garden. Chief Guest, Mr Ravi Chopra, MD Piaggio Vehicles Ltd.
13th February 2008- Seminar on “ Global Warming and Climate Change- Does India Have An Effective Roadmap for Adaptation and Mitigation?”.
Feb/March 2008- 100 books each of “Marine Debris” in Kannada and Gujarati distributed to fishermen at Mangalore and Porbandar/Diu respectively.
June 2008- Festival Of Environment Films NFAI, Pune. Jointly with Rotary, Max Muellar Bhavan & SIMA. SIMA artists donated 6 paintings for Raffle.
July 2008 - Seminar on "Indian Navy Submarines and Underwater Warfare", Southern Command Auditorium Pune  
Sept 2008 - International Coastal Cleanup in India. 6808 volunteers took part. Collected 10728 kgs of Marine Debris in 1861 bags, Covering 82.0 kms.  
Oct 2008 - Dedicated new Seamen's War Memorial in Bund Garden, Pune.  
Nov 2008 - Junior SIMA Exhibition of Seascapes and Painting competition at Empress Garden , Pune.
